Pulisic double powers USMNT past Paraguay in opener

INGLEWOOD - Christian Pulisic struck twice and the United States ran out 4-1 winners over Paraguay in their World Cup opener at SoFi Stadium. Folarin Balogun and Ricardo Pepi added to the tally on a night the hosts looked sharp from the first whistle.
Miguel Almirón pulled one back for Paraguay, but Mauricio Pochettino's side were never seriously troubled and top Group D heading into matchday two.
The USMNT are not in action today. They return on Friday, June 19, against Australia at Lumen Field in Seattle, before closing the group against Türkiye on June 25 back at SoFi.
